PAACE Journal of Lifelong Learning, Editorial Policy and Guidelines, 2007

The PAACE Journal of Lifelong Learning encourages the improvement of practice in adult, continuing, community, and distance education through the dissemination of theoretical, empirical, historical, philosophical, and practical articles. The following guidelines are for the Refereed and Theory-to-Practice sections of the journal. Authors wishing to submit manuscripts for other sections should consult with the editors.

General Guidelines: (1) All submissions must conform to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (5th ed.) except where modified in these guidelines. (2) All manuscripts must be submitted electronically to the e-mail addresses listed under Submission of Manuscripts below. (3) Tables, graphs, and figures should be kept to a minimum and must be submitted as separate files. (4) Questions concerning editorial policies should be directed to the editors. Prospective authors are encouraged to consult the editors during preparation of manuscripts. (5) Evaluation of manuscripts is based upon value of the topic to the field, clarity of purpose and conceptual base, internal logic and consistency, implications for practice, strength of conclusions, readability, and respect for proper expression and the rights of others.

Do not place authors’ names or affiliations on the subsequent pages of the manuscript. (5) On the first page of the manuscript place the title followed by an abstract not to exceed one hundred words. The abstract should summarize the purposes, methods, and conclusions of the article in a manner that is understandable to nonspecialists.

Theory-to-Practice Articles: (1) The purpose of this section is to inform readers of ideas, strategies, and information to improve practice in adult, continuing, community, and distance education.
