We launched as the first Department of Adult and Community Education in Pennsylvania in 1975, and we’ve been pathbreakers in the field ever since. Our philosophy.

Our chair, Professor Gary Dean, has given over 70 presentations on adult and community education, around the world; authored or coauthored four books and 60 articles; and edits the PAACE Journal of Lifelong Learning.
