Graduate Studies and Research
IUP offers 48 graduate programs, including 11 doctoral programs.
At IUP Punxsutawney, you will find an environment that gives you the freedom to find your strengths and prepares you to meet life’s challenges.
This regional campus enables students to receive a university education while commuting, thereby greatly reducing the cost (and loan debt) of their education.


Campuses and Centers
In addition to its main campus in Indiana, Pa., IUP has campuses at Punxsutawney, Jefferson County, and Northpointe, Armstrong County, as well as a graduate and professional center near Monroeville.
Economic Development
IUP is actively involved in all areas of economic development, from the direct support of business and workforce needs to workplace safety and homeland security.

IUP Libraries
The libraries of IUP provide support for teaching, research, and the personal enrichment of members of the university community.
The Registrar’s Office oversees student records, class scheduling, and policies as they pertain to the student academic experience.

Liberal Studies
All students must fulfill the requirements of the university’s Liberal Studies program.
The Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps teaches students leadership and management skills that help prepare them for successful careers—in the U.S. Army or in civilian life.
Women’s Studies
Women’s studies is an area of study that addresses the experiences and contributions of women from multidisciplinary perspectives.

Teaching Excellence
The Center for Teaching Excellence seeks to provide constructive and developmental mechanisms for nurturing the excellence in teaching which already exists at IUP.
Writing Across the Curriculum
The Writing Across the Curriculum program provides support for faculty universitywide in implementing writing into their courses. The program aims to create and sustain a community of writers at IUP.
American Language Institute
The American Language Institute offers full-time, noncredit programs of intensive English for international students and visitors.


The Academic Computing Policy Advisory Committee recommends policy related to technology in support of the academic mission.

University Divisions

Student Affairs
The Division of Student Affairs promotes and enhances student success and personal development by collaboratively and strategically creating and leading programs and services, which advocate for and respond to the broad spectrum of student needs, interests, and aspirations.
Administration and Finance
Our employees serve in roles including maintaining IUP facilities and grounds, ensuring campus safety, handling student billing, and managing the university payroll.
Enrollment Management and Communications
The Division of Enrollment Management and Communications includes the offices of Admissions, Career Development, Communications and Marketing, Culinary Arts Admissions, Financial Aid, and Media Relations, plus Continuing Education.
University Advancement
The University Advancement Division builds long-term voluntary relationships between IUP and its constituencies in order to stimulate greater understanding and support.
Michael Driscoll is the president of IUP. He started in this role July 1, 2012.
