The Academic Affairs Division provides leadership for, organizes and supports the academic programs of the university. Each college of the university is coordinated by this division, as well as several programs that are not specific to a single college.
The provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, the senior officer next to the president, supervises the work of the associate provosts and deans. Specific responsibilities include providing leadership for academic planning and program development; administration of academic policies and standards; advising the president concerning tenure, promotion, and leaves; the selection of faculty and staff, in cooperation with departmental faculty, chairpersons and deans; and the development and supervision of the budget for Academic Affairs.
