The provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, the senior officer next to the president, supervises the work of the associate provosts and deans.
Specific responsibilities include
- providing leadership for academic planning and program development;
- administration of academic policies and standards;
- advising the president concerning tenure, promotion, and leaves;
- the selection of faculty and staff, in cooperation with departmental faculty, chairpersons and deans; and
- the development and supervision of the budget for Academic Affairs.
