The IUP African American Cultural Center will kick off Black History Month 2012 with a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on January 30, 2012: “Living the Dream and Black History: Relevance, Reflections, and Challenges.”

Completed applications for the annual $1,000 Pennsylvania Black Conference on Higher Education (PBCOHE) are available and due January 30, 2012.  They must be submitted by 4 30 p.m. to Dr. C. Princes at the African American CUltural Center of Indiana Univrsity of

The African American Cultural Center invites everyone to IUP and community activities to be held in commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Black History Month.

The Fall 2011 issue of the African American Cultural Center newsletter, Whispers, is available for reading and/or downloading on the AACC Newsletter webpage, where you can also find previous issues of the newsletter.

Being held Saturday, December 10, 2011, at 3:30 p.m., this event includes guest speaker Deo Mwano of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and guest performer Ewabo Caribbean Trio. 

The AACC's annual fall pre-commencement reception and awards program will be held on December 16, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Kolvachick Convention and Athletic Complex and will recognize and honor nearly a hundred graduating diverse students.

The IUP community is invited to attend the annual Kwanzaa Celebration, the theme of which is "Partnering for our Common Destiny Beyond Borders, Global Awareness and Cultural Awareness."
