  <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="introduction">The Office of Conference Services will now be accepting electronic reservation request forms for the Crimson Event Center.</p>
<p>A link to the form can be found on the <a href="https://www.iup.edu:443/WorkArea/linkit.aspx?LinkIdentifier=id&amp;ItemID=6031" title="Conference Services">Conference Services home page</a>, or it can be reached directly at <a href="https://www.iup.edu:443/WorkArea/linkit.aspx?LinkIdentifier=ekfrm&amp;ItemID=136053" title="Crimson Event Center Reservation Form">Crimson Event Center Reservation Form</a>. </p>
<p>Once the forms are received and the requested date/s are validated, the requestor will receive an e-mail from Conference Services indicating approval or denial, and will also receive a set-up diagram request that must be returned to Conference Services as soon as possible. </p>
<p>Reservation requests must be received no later than 72 hours prior to event date. It is strongly suggested that you call Conference Services (357-2227) to check availability before submitting the form.</p>]]></content:encoded>

  <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="introduction"><a title="Conference Services" href="https://www.iup.edu:443/WorkArea/linkit.aspx?LinkIdentifier=id&amp;ItemID=6031">Conference Services</a> is pleased to once again be coordinating with and welcoming the North American Ghanaian 7th Day Adventist Church group from July 18–21, 2012.</p>
<p>Approximately 1,200 attendees, originally from Ghana but now living across the United States, will meet in Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex. They will be staying in several residence halls and eating in Foster Dining Hall. This is a summer retreat for the church members, who are returning to IUP for the second consecutive year.</p>
<p>With the large number of people and additional vehicles on campus, extra police officers will be available to help with traffic flow, directions, and parking issues.</p>]]></content:encoded>

  <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="introduction">Approximately 2,100 high school students will be on campus Saturday–Thursday, May 19–24, as part of the Accelerated Christian Education International Student Convention.</p>
<p>Participating students will travel to IUP from across the United States and from about 20 countries, including Ireland, Australia, Canada, Cayman Islands, England, Fiji, Georgia, Guam, Haiti, and more.</p>
<p>They will compete in more than 140 performance and nonperformance events to demonstrate their achievements and abilities in a wide range of categories ranging from chess to Bible memory and from basketball to art.</p>
<p>Students will be housed in various residence halls and will be using the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex and various academic and athletic facilities.</p>]]></content:encoded>

  <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="introduction">The <a title="Conference Services" href="https://www.iup.edu:443/WorkArea/linkit.aspx?LinkIdentifier=id&amp;ItemID=6031">Office of Conference Services</a> is once again bringing the Advanced Dog Show Judges Institute to IUP from August 9–13, 2010.</p>
<p>Participants come from all over the United States to this prestigious institute to learn advanced-level judging or how to judge a breed that is new to them. Participants will be in lecture workshops each morning, Monday through Friday, during which they will learn the different standards for judging the various breeds. In the afternoon they will be tested on what they have learned as they judge the different breeds during the mock dog show set up in front of Zink Hall.</p>
<p>There are seven different groups of dogs: Herding, Working, Sporting, Toy, Terrier, Non-sporting, and Hound. This year, each of those groups will have fourteen breeds throughout the week. <p>The winning team will proceed to the semifinals, playing the victor of the Greensburg Central Catholic vs. Bedford game, ultimately playing for a spot in the State Championship Game.</p>]]></content:encoded>

<p>The keynote speaker will be Bill Strickland. Approximately 250 to 300 registrants are expected.</p>
<p>The Founders of NAME envisioned an organization that would bring together individuals and groups with an interest in multicultural education from all levels of education and different academic disciplines, and from diverse educational institutions and occupations.</p>]]></content:encoded>

The KCACTF honors excellence of overall production and offers student artists individual recognition through awards and scholarships in playwriting, acting, criticism, directing, and design.</p>

  <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="introduction">The workshop “Best Practices: Environmental Health in the Home, Work, and Community” will be held on September 24, 2009, at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. This is open to all interested nurses, students, and healthcare professionals who want to learn more about environmental exposures in our homes, workplaces, and communities.</p>
<p>Nurses are increasingly taking leadership in the emerging world of environmental health, and environmentalist leaders are increasingly discussing human health outcomes of environmental degradation. This is an opportunity to bring our two powerful communities together again to discuss how we might be able to work together on policy and legislative issues at the state level.</p>
<ul>
<li>Reinforce the link between health and the environment.</li>
<li>Explore chemical legislative and policy issues.</li>
<li>Explore opportunities for collaboration between state nursing association lobbyists and local environmental organizations.</li>
</ul>
<p>The workshop is hosted by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association’s Environmental Task Force.</p>

<p>The Four Footed Friends’ <strong>An Evening For Paws</strong> will be a night to remember with Jeff Reed of the Pittsburgh Steelers as our guest celebrity! Everyone in attendance will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with Jeff Reed and get it autographed.</p>
<p>The event will be held at the Crimson Events Center (in Folger Hall) on the IUP campus. Tickets are $35 per person. Businesses and organizations can purchase a table of 8 for $250 and their name and logo will be displayed on the table.</p>

  <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="introduction">Learn how to reduce your high-energy costs through easily implemented, cost-effective changes for commercial and industrial facilities.</p>
<p>The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's Small Business Ombudsman Office will present free workshops across the state in the spring months. The workshop will be presented at IUP's Crimson Event Center in Folger Hall on May 27 from 8 a.m. to noon. Doors open at 7:45 a.m. Folger Hall is located on the corner of Maple Street and Pratt Drive on the IUP campus.</p>
<p>The workshops will provide basic energy efficiency information and are designed for business owners who have never attended energy efficiency workshops/training. Participants also will learn about financial and technical resources that are available for energy efficiency upgrades at businesses. Registration for the workshops is free, and the sessions are open to the public.  Funding for the workshops is provided through a U.S. Department of Energy grant.  <br /><br />
