For those who are new to IUP, International Unity Day is a day of cultural celebration. We ask that students from each country work together to present an exhibit about their country (food, clothing, photos, and/or articles from your country). The purpose behind International Unity Day is to make our university and the general community aware of the diversity of cultures that we have at IUP. This is done largely through exhibits, lectures, music, dance, food, and art.

If You Want to Participate

Applications are available in the Office of International Education for all interested participants. The office will give each table $100 to spend on food at Giant Eagle. Students may share a table with another country if desired.

We are also looking for students to help with entertainment, children’s activities at their booth, and setting up.

A hand emerges from the water, begging for help. A legendary woman searches for love. A soldier kills a stranger, and is burdened by guilt. The Forsaken Land is certainly one of the most important films to come out of south Asia in recent years. It pushes the envelope completely unmindful of how the market back home will respond to the challenges that its substance and style pose.

African civil society is taking action against the World Bank and the IMF, whom they blame directly for Africa’s woes.
