December 2008 Graduates

When You Register for Classes, Register for Emergency Notifications

Students who have not signed up for IUP’s emergency notification system will have the chance to do so as they register for classes.

The system sends text and voice messages to subscribers during times of crises or when weather-related cancellations occur. Those who already have registered do not need to register again.

Registration is easy. After logging on to URSA for registration, students will be prompted to register and may choose either to add information or decline for the semester. Students may enter family or parent phone numbers, too, if they wish. Entered phone numbers will be kept confidential and will not be shared with any other source.

Subscribers will receive a test message and an opt-out message, which is required by law. If you want to remain subscribed to the service, simply ignore the opt-out message. Unfortunately, IUP has no control over when the opt-out message is delivered to your phone—it may arrive before the test text message.

Salute to May Grads

All students who apply for December graduation will be invited to attend a Salute to Grads at the Co-op Store from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on March 19. At this event, students may order/purchase commencement ceremony robes/regalia and order graduation announcements and memorabilia. Undergraduate students who have earned academic honors can pick up their honors medallions and verify their diploma name and mailing address.

Important Information about the Fall 2009 Late Registration Fee

Students will be assessed a late registration fee if their initial registration for Fall 2009 courses occurs during the following timeframe:

$100 will be assessed if the initial Fall registration occurs after the last day of the Spring 2009 semester (Friday, May 1, 2009).
$200 will be assessed if the initial Fall registration occurs on or after the first day of classes for the Fall 2009 semester (Monday, August 31, 2009).

New students and transfer students are exempt from this fee their first term of enrollment. Readmitted students are exempt from this fee their first term of readmission.

Grades are due May 6, 10:00 a.m.
