The luncheon is sponsored by the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce. Reservations are $25 per person and can be made by calling the chamber at 724-465-2511 or by e-mail to dphenry@wpia.net. The deadline to register is Monday, July 13.

Cornelius was nominated by Governor Edward G. Rendell on January 22, 2009, to be secretary of the DCED. The department’s goal is to foster opportunities for businesses and communities to succeed and thrive in a global economy.

As acting secretary, he will continue to implement key components of Governor Rendell’s economic stimulus package, which has leveraged nearly $3 billion in state resources to attract $8.6 billion in additional investments, according to the Chamber of Commerce. These funds are supporting 2,800 job-producing projects throughout Pennsylvania.
