Graduate Business Student Association Visits Federal Reserve Bank

On March 23, 2012, 11 students from the Graduate Business Student Association visited the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

The visit consisted of a presentation about the Federal Reserve history and roles in the United States. Theye also had the chance to visit the gold vault, known to be the largest gold repository in the world with a value of approximately $410 billion (as of March 2012).

The visit ended with a presentation about the bank’s educational program, which the visit is a part of. The program aims to increase public understanding of the Federal Reserve System’s role in creating and implementing monetary policy and ensuring financial stability.

Overall, the visit proved to be a great opportunity to better understand the role of an institution that has played a critical part in trying to resolve the financial crisis and help the country’s economic recovery.

Graduate Business Student Association Visits Harley Davidson

Ten MBA students from the Graduate Business Student Association, along with Ramesh Soni, Department of Management, visited the Harley Davidson factory located in York, Pa., on February 27, 2012.

They had the opportunity to visit the factory floor and take a behind-the-scenes look at the entire operation: the people, processes, and products. It was a guided tour through the manufacturing of key components and the assembly of Softail, Touring, CVO, and Trike motorcycles. We were surprised to see that every motorcycle is roll-tested prior to shipping.

MBA Student Aryal Makes Presentation on Nepal

The presentation, dubbed “Current Social-Economic-Political Profile,” was made to members of the Indiana Rotary Club on February 7, 2012.

New Executive MBA Program at Northpointe Campus

The Eberly College of Business and Information Technology launched its Executive MBA Program at IUP’s Northpointe campus with a cohort group of 28 students on January 24, 2012.

This version of the EMBA program is designed for working professionals to complete their MBA in two years without interrupting their careers on a one-evening-a-week basis. The program is delivered in a “hybrid” format (50 percent in-class sessions and 50 percent online sessions).
