]]> Mr. Bruce V. Dries 2013-03-14T14:54:00Z Established in June 1998 in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Foundation for IUP, the Community Volunteer Service Award recognizes the volunteer commitment demonstrated by the Foundation’s board of directors throughout the years.

This award also honors the volunteer spirit demonstrated by students at Indiana University of Pennsylvania who demonstrate outstanding volunteer service that reflects positively on the university and makes a difference in the lives of community residents, and society as a whole.

Candidates for the award must meet the following guidelines:

  1. Must have earned a minimum of 24 credit hours by the end of the Spring 2013 semester;
  2. Must be enrolled as a full-time student in good academic standing at Indiana University of Pennsylvania at the time of application;
  3. Must be a returning full-time student in good academic standing to Indiana University of Pennsylvania for the 2013–2014 academic year; and
  4. Must be engaged in volunteer community service that exceeds any volunteer service required as part of a class project, membership, scholarship, or other obligatory circumstance in order to be eligible for this award.

Please print the application (below) and complete sections A, B, and C on the reverse side of the form. Then return the completed application by April 12, 2013, to:

You will leave knowing where to find the annual available amount, where to find and how to verify the criteria, and how to complete the Electronic Scholarship Disbursement Request.

Discussion will also take place about awarding the scholarship, what happens if the student no longer meets the criteria, and the criteria of financial need. Anyone involved in awarding scholarships is invited.
